Well let me tell you what I think of Best Buy, not much..My husband Jim purchased three new cell phones for us at the Manchester NH store some time in late May or Early June?? Not so important that the date is correct...He is a fantastic consumer, did his homework and decided Best Buy was the place to go...And it was, so far as the product and service were concerned. Where the problem lies is with some one in the corporate end of things there. Some days after the purchase my husband got a call from his sales person at the store to let him know they had entered his name into a drawing for free Red Sox tickets and he won three free tickets!! Wow he was happy, big fan his whole life rarely gets to go to the games any more, so happy that he made plans to treat our nephew and our daughters' boyfriend to the game and a boys night out. After looking forward for weeks to their plans, they arrived at Fenway Park Tues pm the 28th of July..At the gates they were turned away and told to go to another gate and talk to some agent??When they did that they were told that the tickets had been valid until Tues morning the 28th of July at which time they were cancelled by the corporate person at Best Buy and reisuued to other people..who were by the way now seated in the seats that our family should have been in. Where does this Company get their nerve?? To allow someone to make plans for weeks, take time off from work, travel to Boston from NH and then to find out they have taken back the free tickets with out any word or warning or explanation?? And let me say again in no way did he solicit these free tickets he did not even enter his own name into the drawing and knew nothing about it until he was told he won the drawing!! After the year my husband has endured I was thrilled for hime that "luck" seemed to shining on him!! You see Jim had been diagnosed with a very large but benign brain tumor in late August of last year, the surgery to remove his tumor went very well, but he was infected with a "bug" in the operating room and had to have months long treatments for the infections and 3 more brain surgergies to clear it up, his last surgery was to replace his now missing scull piece with a prostetic bone to cover his brain. We talked during his recovery, boy we talked about a lot of things but one of them was how he now had to get to more games!!! They were such fans that he and his younger brother secrectly spread some of their older bothers' ashes at Pesky pole some years back!! As I have since heard has been done by quite a few loved ones in rememberance...So you see when these tickets came up it was like a message of sorts from wherever these messages may come from...Only this message turned into something quite different. How would you feel about spending you good money at a business that does this sort of thing? I swear this is the God's honest truth and you can email me if you like as I would love for everbody in the world to hear about this shamefaul thing that Best Buy did to my husband.
