The more the world changes the more it stays the same. While technology continuously uproots the world we live in, people still hunger for the same basic goals: love, stability and fast Internet.
Bite Communications, 463 Communications and Zogby International recently teamed up to take the empirical pulse of our nation at a digital crossroads and get an accurate picture of the importance of the near ubiquitous Internet in our daily lives.

Senior marketing and communications executives from Brocade, Cisco, HP, Livescribe, McAfee, Palm, Salesforce, Sybase, Synopsys, Twitter, VeriSign and VMware will gather at The Slanted Door in San Francisco for a roundtable dinner that will delve into the data and tease out insights that uncover exactly what makes the American of 2010 tick.
The event will explore insights from polling a cross-section of Americans the following:
- Imagine for a moment that you lost access to the Internet for 24 hours – at work, at home and on your mobile device. Would that be very disruptive to your life?
- What most represents success for you?
- When you look at the world today, do you see yourself more of a citizen of the United States or a citizen of the world?
- If the Internet went down for a week, what would be the impact on: your job? the overall economy? your social life?
- What does information technology make you better at?
- Countries such as China and India have emerged as economic powers in the last 15 years. Is that a good or bad thing for the United States?
Tonight’s discussion will look to build a picture of the Internet’s role in contemporary personal and professional life and sketch the visage of the true digital junkie.
